School...

How do you stay focused? I have a paper due on Monday for my English class...4 pages(2 so far) about Hallucinogenic drugs and mental disorders...a pretty boring subject. If I don't like the thing I am working on, I get distracted easily, which is what happened today. It took me nearly 4 hours to write just those two pages.:-/ I have my powerpoint presentation due this coming Tuesday. *sigh*

 

Are you saying that the subject is: hallucinogenic drugs cause mental disorders??? Because if so, I'm in trouble.

 

In a way, yes that is what my paper is saying. lol.

And by "hallucinogenic drugs" I mean LSD and the like[illegal stuff].

 

The paper is more about the effects if "illegal drugs" on a persons mind, than just "mental disorders."

 

i took 3 exams yesterday... i have 2 monday... and 1 tuesday...
you have no idea the amount of info i have to memorize lol... ( im doing taxonomy and muscles and bones for the biology test)... good news is.. half of those are marine. and 1/8 of those i already know because of 3reef. lol

oh and i have a 5 page essay do the 14 of this month too...

 

See, that's the thing. If it is something I like, such as what you said above(biology), then i am all good and can focus on that for hours. lol. But I think if it's not in my general interest, I dread it. haha My research paper fo science fair was about the Effects of LED on SPS coral. I enjoyed typing that(interesting to me)...all 6 pages. 8) Speaking of that..I should post that on here in the lighting section.

 

On a side note...

Can I put that in the lighting section? That would be appropriate, correct? I will follow up with a review of Orphek PAR38s when they come out...

 

Well other than feeling "guilty" because it is illegal, a lot of these drugs can be good as long as taken in moderation. When it comes to full blown addiction, is when long term effects can occur. But really the truth is, those with mental disorders and or "having the disease of addiction"...The drug use is really just a symptom of something else. Most people who abuse drugs have been affected by something traumatic at some point in their life. Anything from, physical abuse, to divorce.

That is just how classes are that you are not interested in. I had that issue in high school and college. In college it would take me hours to write simple papers because I would never just sit down and do it. I would be distracted watching TV or take a break. My personal motto became just wait till the last minute becuase then I had to do it. And that is why I am now in a professional that has a very quick turnaround.

 

If you feel that high school is challenging, wait for college.
