Hey there, I have an established tank with two green chromis, two clown fish an a dog nose puffer, I did have a cleaner wrasse too but had to get rid of it as it was stressing the puffer. I replaced it with a schooling banner fish yesterday but got up this morning to it dead on the bottom of the tank :-( all water tests are fine... Any ideas? Could the puffer have killed it?

Were there any bite marks on the banner? Puffers can be aggresive but it could also be how the fish was acclimated or if it was unhealthy from the get-go, lots of variables.

i didnt see any markings on the fish and a acclimated it as i always do, i guess it was just not a well fish... just feel hesitant of putting more fish in if it is being attacked by the puffer?

They are kind of touchy fish. But to die so fast.... I bet is wasn't something you or your tank did.

Banner fish are very sensitive and not very hardy. It was probably just stress from being transported.

Ya, they often die despite our best and most cautious efforts. I would place them in a QT by themselves so they can try to adapt in peace.
