I got this cLPS a few months ago and it was sold to me as an open brain. I think it is actually a scolly though.
    Am I correct?
Is a scoly a type of open brain?
Or is it not a scolly at all?
    Thanks

Scolly is a form of open brain. Wellso is an open brain also..

I think it is a lower end scolly compared to the $300 scollys out there if it is a scolly. Not 100% sure though.

Ok that sounds like it makes sense...LOL
What makes a scolly, a scolly?
I did not pay anywhere near $300 for it. More like $40-$50 ;)

Not really sure, haha..I know a good amount of info on other open brains but never owned or really looked into a scolly. Their are some REALLY rare forms of them though. Look them up, they are awsome.

Looks more like a Wellsophyllia from what I can see...can you get us a top down photo and maybe a shot of the skeleton.

The lights are out right now, but I will see if
I can find a picture. The reason I think it is a scolly is because of its growth. It is not branching out or anything (not trying to form another head, in other words), but it is just staying circular.
Would you say $40 is a fair price for it if it is a scolly? Or would the value lower?
But, both of these (wellso, scolly) are open brains....correct?
I feed it once a week, but do any of the care requirements change if it is a different type of open brain?
    Thanks

Edit: Just found one in birds eye view ;)

Based on how the colors are striated and the "texture" I still say Wellso...but in terms of general care and placement, both are about the same.

    LOL
Can I place it on the sand though?
Or should I keep it on the PVC?
I have it on the PVC because I was worried about sand getting in it......would that be a big issue?
    Thanks ;)
