My scooter blenny is just sitting in one place, and looks very unhealthy--was fine yesterday and have had him for 4 months--I moved him into the fuge--He did not even resist the net. I am very worried about him. The only changes I made were I started dosing mag and cal. Everyone else is fine. Any suggestions??? Oh, the fuge is kinda nasty...cyano and chaeto on a sandbed--there are amphipods and I added some brine--will keep the lights off a day or so.

If you're dosing Ca, you might want to also be dosing Alk, if not the rise in Calcium will cause Alk to drop. Low Alk could affect pH levels, making them unstable. This might be your problem? What are the rest of your parameters reading?

your mag is still low, should be 1400-1500,
    your ca is still low

What does your WC schedule look like, and what salt are you using? Is there any physical symptom or symptoms to go with the blenny's change in behaviour.

I know they are low--that is why I started dosing.--My W/C sched is every 2 weeks--20% With Oceanic Salt--Just changed to Oceanic due to the higher Ca levels. Wanted to use Reef Crystals but too inconsistant. and price is almost double.--Update--checked on him in fuge this morning before work--(Had a hard time finding him--blended into sand)He is still alive but totally lethargic. I'm hoping for the best but fear the worst. I left the light on the fuge off and just ran my cabinet light.

    Update

Well I think I saved my scooter blenny--I put him in the fuge with lots of pods and he has made a complete recovery!!!!! YAY!! I now want to return him to the DT but I dont want this to happen again. (I am assuming he was starving) I want suggestions on feeding. I have upped the pellets to twice a day instead of once and I trained him to eat pellets while in the fuge.
