What pellets are you feeding it? remember that scooters are forever picking at live rock for food and if there is not enough pods for it to eat, you may be slowly starving the little guy. I would suggest target feeding mysys and brine like yuma said twice a day.

I fed e tank tonight and OL Scooter ate like a pig--I fed him pellets and mysis when he was recovering in the fuge--I guess he learned to eat that--he looks great now. I use a mix of marine 1 and 2 pellets from ocean nutrition. The pellets get into the rocks and Tangs and Blennys peck away at them. I dont think target feeding will work--he wont stay still--my tank is too deep to get my arm down to him and the current just takes the food.

    Glad it's doing better!

I am still iffy about pellets though just because I'm not sure it is getting the correct nutrition but then again I feed mine brine/mysys combo and they don't eat those in the wild either. Anyway, as far as target feeding, the best way I have found is to feed all the other fish first and once all the food gone, you then take a turkey baster with mysys/brine combo and try and get it as close to the fish as possible without scaring him. It takes a little time and patience but once you get it used to it, it will become a lot easier. K+

Good to hear he is doing better. I would safely rule out water parameters as the culprit, since the fuge and DT share the same water. He didn't have enough natural food to keep him happy in the DT. He may be better suited for the fuge, even though he won't be in your main tank to be seen and enjoyed. :(

Thanks fazool and tigermike!!! Funny thing was before he fell ill (or starved) I never saw him eat--now I do..Maybe I was just not paying attention at first--maybe he wasnt starving and was just sick! Anyway he is on day 3 and looks better than ever! Great color and hopping all over the live rock--My Powder Brown just recovered from ich this weekend also!!!! I feel like the fish doctor..JK But really, I feel blessed that both of them recovered. I hear about so many that dont. That is why I wanted to share some good news!
