I have a Scooter Blenny and when I woke up this morning I done my morning Feeding and my Scooter was just fine. About 30 Minunites later I came back and looked in the tank and my Scooter was in the back of the tank on his back dead. I have been putting Reef Bugs in my tang every day and they have started and are all over. My Yellow Tang and My Sand Sifter is just fine. All of my chemicals and Salinity is just fine. Please help me to find out why my Scooter Blenny died.

It could have picked a fight with someone, but it sounds like it was just his time. Sometimes fish die for no reason we can figure out, and I can't think of any reason for this death that could be fixable. How long have you had it?

Scooter blennys do not eat Reef bugs, they need copepods and amphipods. They will also eat brime and mysis shrimp if trained. If you didn't supply these I think he starved to death. Very sorry that this happened.

I have had the Scooter Blenny for about 2 months now and i have talked with several people and they have said that the scooter blenny will eat the reef bugs after they have started in the tank well.

Was his belly fat or was it concave? I have two scooters, one for 11 months and another for 5 months, when they have enough food their bellies are fat and the whole body is full looking. If yours was like that there must have been something wrong with him. So sorry for your loss, I love mine like they were dogs, just wish I could pet them.
