We were bored and walking around the local Petco tonight (this one stocks decent saltwater stuff) and saw this lonely looking tang swimming around. We didnt know what kind it was, nor did anyone working there, the tag just said "assorted tang". Anyway the butterfly in the tank was beating him up and we felt bad so we bought him for a whopping $18. Brought him home and once he colored up it turns out we have an Orange Shoulder Tang which is around 4". We had never even heard or seen one of them before tonight but its very pretty. Cant get it to pose for a photo just yet but we'll get one up soon.

P.S. I saw an orange shoulder tang while browsing a website last night and thought it was very pretty!

Here's the only pic we could get. He looked pretty drab in the store (probably from being picked on) but he's coloring up pretty quick and looks to still be in the juvenile color stage. They turn a pretty wicked combination of colors when they mature.

He seems to have livened up almost instantly since we added to our tank. He's active and has a huge appetite. We have a softspot for fish with battle scars, this one didnt look to beat up though, just unhappy. After watching him get beat on for a few minutes we had no choice but to shell out the cash for him and ended up getting a great deal :D

Yea we were shocked at how much stuff our local store carries. The guy running the aquatics department is awesome and will order you whatever you want. We're supposed to be getting a black and white clown in from them soon. Your Petco doesnt carry saltwater? All of the local ones around here do but 90% of them are pretty crusty.
