scored impeller and pump-

Hello-
I just bought a used Mag 9.5. Upon cleaning it I realized the impeller magnet has many grooves cut into it; the pump body also is pretty well scored. When I ran the pump in a bucket of water it worked well but seemed a little loud.
Must this impeller be replaced? Is it destined to be loud and fail, or is this normal wear? Since the inside body is also scored, do you think this thing is probably useless?

Impellers are cheap so I would get another one and try it. I have the replace the impeller in my Kalk reactor about every 8 to 10 months because they wear out with the harsh environment.
