I use a Mag Float to clean my glass but it still needs scrapped occasionally. I have used a flat razor to do this but I swear that I have scratched my glass doing this and it really makes me mad to think I did that. Then look at the scratch everyday. I have a plastic scrapper that will not get Coraline off. What are others using? I see you can buy long handled Metal scrappers but I would be afraid they would scratch also. Suggestions or experience using metal?

i use an old credit card

i would stay away from anything with a long handle. its hard to tell if its flat on the glass/acrylic when your using them. which results in scratches

+1, that's what I use as well. Takes a bit more scraping but gets the job done.

I use an EZ-Blade super glued to my mag float. I have never had a problem.

+1 i used that on my glass tank a few years back. it worked well since the mag float keeps it flat on the glass. just need to be careful near the corners were the silicone is

I like the credit card idea, I don't mind getting my hands wet if it works and I don't have to worry about it scratching. Anyone use any kind of cut plexi glass? I am picturing something inserted in to the end of a dowel rod.

What's the point of having glass if you can't take some metal to it. :) I hate cleaning my acrylic tanks and having to use a plastic scraper. I will never use mag-floats ever again.

I've always used a razor blade and made sure to keep it at an angle as I scrape. I've never scratched my glass...YET! I think I'll try the credit card idea next time and see how it works. The mag-float blade looks like it's worth a shot also. Thanks for your ideas and suggestions all!

So you use this on glass and never get scratches from it? Are you very careful or is just not sharp enough.
