I have owned this BC for almost a year now. Works great! Much harder to keep everything in order compared to my old 55-150gals. Regardless, the factory 14g does do what it is advertised.

Anyway, I am still having problems with the fans screaming when you first turn them on. It is a ongoing problem for the majority of BC owners, during the time I purchased mine, and I am pretty much done with it. Oceanic has actually done a great job of replacing the fans in a very timely manner but the replacement fans have been cheap and the problem continues.

What I am wanting to do is upgrade. Both lights are due for replacement so I figured this is a good time to just end my hassle with these fans and upgrade to a more powerful set of lights while at the same time opening up my options as far as corals go. With that said, can someone point me in the direction of a total hood replacement (hood, fans, more intense lights, ect ect) or a kit? I am not much into pulling wires and following schematics but I am hoping there is a simple solution. Please, please, please, if you have a suggestion on what might work for me would you please post a direct link to the product? There are a couple websites out there but I never know exactly what I should get.

I am willing to spend around $300 for a total hood 'makeover' in order to stop the BS screaming fan problem while at the same time adding more spectrum to my corals. $400 to totally pimp out at 14g BC hood.

Thanks so much for any info. BTW, the 3Reef FB posts lately have been pretty good!
