    Originally I had a glass top on my tank and because of the HOB items it wouldn't sit down on the inside lip of the aquarium. This was fine until I upgraded my lights and they were unable to sit on the tank with the glass piece this way.

    So now I have an open top tank and was interested in getting a screen top to prevent jumpers(already had one :-[).

    One question was, what about the space in the back since there are HOB items preventing the screen from covering the whole tank, would there be an issue of this open space?

    You can always buy xtra corner adapters and build around your hob items, also if you dont like the white mesh, you can get black at your local home depot. 4$ for a large roll of *bird netting* 100% safe

    +1, also BRS sells an "invisible mesh", looks great and doesn't affect the lights.
