screw n or double end for mh bulbs

    What are the thoughts of the two dif types. Is there a pro and con to the two dif types of bulbs looking at some now to upgrade my lights thinking 2 250w for a 75 gal tank any thoughts on this.

    Double ended don't get stuck due to corrosion and then break off when removed. (I'm sure you have had this experience with normal screw lamps) They have a smaller arc length so the packaging is smaller. But also the life is generally shorter by a little bit. Cost is similar.

    yea didnt think of that im just running some pc now they have the plugs prob will go with the double ended ones i guess

    You can get SE with glass cover too. In fact it's recommended so the reflectors and bulbs don't get so corroded.
    The big difference is in the 400W class most people stay SE because so many more bulb choices.
