Lately there has been a nasty slime-like scum on the water surface in my refugium. What is this stuff and can I get rid of it?

You could add a small water pump I have in the past occasionally added small internal filter with the media removed and the outlet slightly out of the water. I used to put it on when the surface got a algal/organic film on it it usually took about 2-3 hours to clear then I switched the pump off and let my CUC and protein skimmer process it.
