Well I noticed the other day my scwd stopped alternating.  >

Took it off (pain in the butt) and gave it the once over. Looks like lime build up has jammed it. Probably soak it in vinegar, but I don't think I'll use it again. Good concept, but all those gears seem fragile for salt. Probably have to deal with it every couple months as I have.

I just got a Tunze Turbelle pump in the mail with wave controller, probably just use that now once I hook it up.

 

Yeah, we bought a second one so I can swap it out and clean one, while using one. So Far, so good, but I am dissapointed in how frequently it needs cleaning. I don't have any lime build up that I could see...hoping to get streams for christmas :

 

I wish i would of built a back up pipe line so i can shut one down while the other operates! A good by-pass line in my business is a must and i did not follow my own design guidelines.

 

I like that idea Malachi. Would make sense on a big tank. I am kinda surprised my keeps going out because I do use a sponge prefilter on my sump pump.

 

since i have no filter in my tank (want nothing to feed the Hair) it actually has lastest longer then my first one. I have read a report, maybe even here, that calcium build up can cause a problem.
