    HI,
well I am seeing tooo:eek: much new algae growth with that well water it isn't killing anything but seem to feed that algae, so extra iron may feed algae
I have a small phos reactor so I know it isn't phos,ps I test for it tooo.
So Any one hear of Sea Chem Prime it removes cholramine, chlorine and ammonia all at the same time. 2 drop per gallon..removing ammonia is important with chloramine cause many product turn it into ammonia yikes...

And my phos reactor can take care of that phos , I ve test our city water and its very low here in va beach.
So tell me now before I order 5 gal of this stuf..

    the description by the manufactor
(((Seachem Prime is the most complete and concentrated water conditioner for both freshwater and saltwater aquariums. Prime removes chlorine, chloramines, and ammonia. Ammonia is converted into a safe, non-toxic form that is readily removed by the tank's bio-filter. This product is best used during tank cycling to alleviate ammonia/nitrite toxicity. Prime detoxifies nitrite and nitrate, allowing the bio-filter to more efficiently remove them, making a safer and healthier environment for your fish. It also promotes the production and regeneration of the natural slime coat of your pet fish. This product is non-acidic and will not impact pH. Use at start-up and whenever adding or replacing water.))))

I found some for 1/2 price on ebay, ordered 1000ml that should last a while...

Change that "may" to "will." Prime is good for treating tap water before it goes in the tank but I would rather look to improve the water going into the tank by filtering it rather than using chemicals if you have that option.

Prime is something shippers use to help control ammonia during shipping. I learned that directly from a shipper several years ago when I was curious how they shipped their fish to us at LFS I worked at.
