I would maybe look into skimmers online, usually you'll find they're much cheaper than in the LFS & lots more options. I love my HOB Deltec MCE600 but it's really expensive but outperforms any skimmers I've had ten fold. I've had a Remora and it was ok, bought a Bermuda Rogue which got lots of praise but I couldn't fit it on my tank because of my light fixture. I can't really comment on the Sea Clone, I have heard great things about Octopus skimmers also.

Marine Depot stocks a lot of different brands and you can see lots of reviews for each also:

IMO I would get the best you can afford.

+1^^ Online is your best bet for a good deal. The Sea Clone is a POS I had one of those that I got on clearence at petco for $10. I used it as my first skimmer on my old 24 g nano. Don't buy it...you'll regret it if you do. The airline always got clogged with saltcreep which needed to be clean out every few days. It was also very hard to adjust and get it to produce skimmate.

My experience with Seaclone was terrible. It didn't skim and was not worth what I spent for it. Save your money and get something good. Online is probably the best place for you to shop.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
    I agree.

Spend the money on a better skimmer. The design of the Sea Clone is not user friendly, needs constant dialing in, makes a ton of noise and the salt creep is bad.

You aren't kidding! I have one on my 20g tank and it is noisy as hell.

The salt creep in the airline was only an issue if I didn't clean it with fresh water. If I stuck the line in the tank to help clear it out, when it dried it left a lot of salt in the line. Using fresh water to clear it out I could go months without the need to clear it out again.

I used to have issues with dialing it in on my 38g, but once I set it up on my 20g, I never had the need to adjust it again. I guess it's just luck of the draw, so to speak. Or maybe the smaller the tank the less finicky it is?

I will say it is not a skimmer I would recommend on a tank larger than 20 gallons. It just doesn't pull out a whole bunch of skimmate. I upgraded to an AquaC Remora HOB skimmer, and can say without a doubt it blows the Seaclone away. I'd buy a used Remora (exactly what I did) before I ever purchased another Seaclone (new or used).

seaclone skimmers are from hell. I had one on my tank for 8 months and buying that was a mistake. To get the skimmer to function slightly i would half to clean it completely every two weeks. Go for a aqua c remora. They aren't heavily expensive, They're dependable and work extremely well. Low maintenance and well built. I love mine and wouldn't trade it for anything. And it can handle a pretty heavy bioload.

I would look into something a little better, im guessing you thought about it cuz its cheap right?

They are cheap skimmers, i had once for my 29g..It was loud and had some micro bubbles all the time when the water came into the tank. Try and get something a little better.

well being cheap is part of the reason not all. the guy at the lfs swear by it, and he said he has it in the store and in his tank at home. he even showed me the skimmer in action on a 75gal in the store.
i live in an apartment right now and i did not want to do the whole sump setting here. this is why i chose to have a canister and hob skimmer. but i will definitely have at least 1 sump later with a large skimmer later. (when i move to a house hopefully soon)
