    Has anyone had any bad experiences with them I read they can wipe a tank is that actually possible

    Yes it is. In particular if a pump or powerhead minces one up; bad news.

    There was a recent post here by someone who recommended themas part of their CUC but as stated above, they will ruin everything if they go through a powerhead so it is a serious thing to think of if you are considering adding one to your system. FWIW i don't think i ve ever seen one for sale at my LFS which usually has a wide inventory.

    I've only ever seen 2. One while snorkeling in the VI and Reef Bruh has one in 600gal. Might be worth while to ask him about his.

    Just my 0.02 I've had mine for 4+yrs and it does a great job at keeping my sand immaculate. I had two and one passed with no Ill affect to the tank.

    It depends on which cuke you have. Holothuria sp. (tiger tails) aren't really too prone to nuking a tank. However, Colochirus sp. (the little pink, yellow, etc) cukes are a lot more prone to this, as are the sea apples (Pseudocolochirus sp.) are the worst offenders.
