Sea hair covered in white mucus

A friend of mine has white mucus all over their sea hair. they have had it for about a week? don't have a picture sorry. I will go see it after work and take a pic. any thoughts of what it could be?

 

I have had Sea hares in the past that do give off a mucus sometimes. As far as them being covered in it I would have to see a picture.

 

what size tank is the sea hare in? It could be dying which can be very bad to tanks. They kind of "melt" away when it is dying. Definately get a picture, as it could just be mucous but it could be more severe

 

its in a 75. if the hare is dead when I get there. what should I do? run carbon?

 

Yes and do a WC as soon as possible.

 

they like to dig themselves in the sand deeply, and that white mucus is poop+white sand
