sea horse flow rate

    Oh I am not saying they don't chill out because they usually do but when they want to move they can move. Like at feeding time, they zip around the tank very quickly chasing the frozen mysid shrimp I feed them.

    And as far as the flow goes I am not say that you should have as much as a normal reef tank either, but you have to have some.

    I have seen where people have had barely any which caused problems. And I was told by several moderators on seahorse.org the a good amount of flow is beneficial to both the tank and the seahorses.

    and yes I do agree, that pump in a 7 gallon tank would be a bit much.

    I would recommend that you look at the information available on Seahorse.org because there is wealth of information on there.

    I was very lucky as I have a very good friend who is one of the people who is highly involved in the site in fact she was one of several people who ran their booth at IMAC this year.

    She has been teaching me not only the ins and outs of adult seahorse care she allowed me to raise some of her last batch of babies of which was quite an experience. I have 3 that are almost 3 months old and 2.5 inches long now.

    sweet! seahorse.org is my next stop. and i wasnt 100% set on the 7 gal, i had a feeling it might be to small, but it looks better then my other unused tanks.
