    Agreed.

There are many things that I have tried here from people on 3reef and sometimes they made it worse. (ex. Did a fresh water dip per instructions on a gramma with ich, and followed it word by word. Lost him because of that) or sometimes it was the most wonderful suggestion ever.

Not saying that all advise here is bad or good. But it truely is a learning experience for everyone, like most have said. Some things work for some and not others. I personally think everyone should sit back and relax and just watch the updates.

Many fish are lost daily to this hobby. Whether it is a new member of the hobby or an experienced one. Even when the most experienced think they have it all down in their heads, they still have a chance to fail. That is part of the most fascinating thing to mother nature, every creature is different and may break the rules. Just because someone at some point set it as a general rule for us. Doesn't mean it will be that creatures rule.

As for the seahorses, best of wishes with them and I hope they thrive for you. Keep me posted with pics please. :D... (Im like a little kid, I prefer the picture book to a novel)

I catch them. Cool little critters, feeling bad for them is one of the reasons I had agreed to donate them to the breeder. They would try to clean my hand anytime I worked on the tank, and I started to prefer them to most of the fish in the tank.

Again I don't mean to judge or anything like that, seems you are in it for the hobby and I can appreciate that. Just my opinion, once a day feeding might be on the short side for a seahorse. They just don't store much food. It takes a fish a long time to starve, but once they go downhill it is really hard to get them back up. Try feeding them on your lunch break and when you get home, and before you go to sleep. They will eagerly eat 3 times a day, and keeping them well fed will help them get larger. I am not sure if it is true or not, but Tim from PBMAS, who is at least what I call an expert on the subject, said the female I had was the biggest one in captivity he had seen, and I attribute that to them having all the food they can handle. They ate about 8 shrimp a day each, the male would leave some bits of the shrimp though. I tried to keep about 40-50 in their at all times, since they can be pretty clever about survival.

Wow. Just wow.... If you say thats not judging then think again. Like brown said that experience is gained from past experiences. I am behind you browntrout and hope the very best... I have learned alot here and aslo got really frustrated about some peoples thoughts and sometimes rude opinions. In the past people were scared to death of trying some of the fish people have in there tanks today! I love the debate though. It has taken me almostg an hour to read and comprehend this thread and I agree with you brown. I know most peoples lfs is in it for the money... but you do get the occasional guy thats in it for the lifestyle of caring for the fish and loving these little guys and making them spoiled and fat! BUT as for anyone that reads thru it in two seconds, do not state facts that you have read thinkin you can try and persecute. I love this and hope it works very well... I have respect for you man and karma as well... keep up the learning and researching for that is thekey to keeping anything in life. Once again Good luck!

So if one person fails at something, then tells his buddy about it, does that mean his buddy would never be able to achieve success at the same thing his buddy failed ar either? This is the same logic you are cramming down my throat.

    ...just sayin.
