Sea urchin Dead?

    it doesn't look it's losing spines to me, it still has it's color and no crabs are messing with it so i don't know what to do. I got my water tested again awhile ago. 0 nitrate and nitrite and ammonia. And 8.0ph. I moved it yesterday and it hasn't really moved at all today.

    everything is still living and doing fine. all my crabs and snails. I thought my green emerald crab would be dead but its doing fine also.

    It shouldn't by itself, a sudden change maybe, but an 11% change in salinity shouldn't be fatal. Add the 88 degrees and that's a lot of stress. Doesn't sound like it is dead yet, but I couldn't say if it will survive. If it does die the crabs will likely be all over it though.

    true, but over time 1.03 will kill, trust me, due to a laziness of calibration, I know for a fact, 1.03 will kill many things

    Its not 1.03 anymore but idk how long it was at 1.03 while i was gone.

    It is a dry heat, yeah right !
    I would not buy anymore sensitive inverts such as urchins/anemones/clams.... until the tank is more established.

    Based on the presence of the algae in the images the tank is not ready for inverts listed above or more sensitive stony corals.

    ok. Other than the diatom the other algae is cyano.. Its actually not a bad as it seems.. But i am waiting.
