Assuming that the only reason that the anemone is not attaching is because it's being annoyed by a clown fish then, yes, this would help the situation.

It's been along time since I had an anemone but back when I did I remember having the same problem. Mine free floated after I bought it no matter where I put it. At the time only had one small clown so that wasn't and issue. I would wedge it between a couple of rocks and it would just shrink down until the current caught it and float merrily away!

As I remember it took it about two weeks to settle. Once it did it never moved for the rest of the time I had the tank. So what I got from that was it wasn't happy and moved around till it found a spot it was happy in and thean and only then it attached itself.

Let it float but try and make sure all your intakes are protected if you can, especially your power heads cause when they get stuck in those its not a pretty sight! A friend of mine just recently had one get "Blenderized" by a power head, it survived but its not a pretty sight.

Oh, I also agree, if you can isolate it from the clowns that would be a good idea.

And they will stay there until somthing is changed like water flow or lighing ? Just hope its not up next to any delicate and or expensive corals ? All be it that some anemone specise do move around far more then others.

I heard that this is a typically hard to keep anemone... check your water params and if they are good, maybe your current isn't enough? Maybe too much? Maybe an adjustment of your powerheads could be the problem... Also, that clown seems to be a little aggressive on him.. at least he's taken to the clown a little... does he sting the clown or just get pushed around?

How much lighting (intensity/wattage?) does this type of anemone require?
