I recently got a bucket of this stuff and my tests are showing an KH of 7.5 to 8. Anybody have similar experience with this stuff? I am using an API test kit.

Is it bad to leave RO water that has been mixed with the salt in a mixing bucket with a low GPH pump for a week before using it? Could that possibly explain the low alkalinity?

That won't affect alk. I , and many others do exactly the same. In reality, the SW (or RODI) made up that way will store almost indefinitely, but I don't know anyone that could test that theory out as we all do water changes:)

Thanks for the info...that is what I figured.

I can't find much info on this mix. I read some stats somewhere that stated it was supposed to have a default KH reading of 10. I've bought a big bucket and now I'm wondering if I made a mistake since the KH is testing so low. Anybody have any info/opinions on the Seachem Salt Mix?!?!

I remember seeing the whole salt specs chart as well, that is why I switched to red Sea Salt.

I will try to find that and post it up.
