I have my old seaclone protein skimmer that never really worked as a skimmer, and instead of letting it go to waste I thought I could put it to use. I'm thinking about turning it into a phosphate reactor. I thought if I take out the inner tubes and put some media in a filter bag and place it inside. Then just let it run. The pump will pump water in from the bottom and out the top. Allowing the water to pass through the media. Anybody see a problem with this?

I am not farmiliar with your skimmer - but as long as you set the cup low or have enough flow over the media to make it effiecient you should be good... I would aim for something in the neighborhood of 100 ~ 200 GPH? minimum. GOOD LUCK!

The skimmer has a maxi jet 1200 on it so it should have enough flow. Thanks for your help.
