ok well I have alot of GHA on my substrate and on some of my LR. my LFS recommended a seahare to clean it up. are they worth it? I have heard some horror stories about them wiping a tank. is this common? any thoughts or help?

Yes, they do hold the ability to take out a tank.
Either way IMHO adding creatures for your algae problem is a patch at best. I would look into what exactly is causing the algae, and eliminate that ;)

That could be it. I would also test for phosphates.
Other good creatures to look in to would be mexican turbo snails, a blenny, fox face, or a tang of some sorts. All will happily feast on GHA with no toxic risk ;)

well here is the thing. I just did my water test today because I just lost a sailfin tang. he was fine till 2 days ago when he started staying behind the rock. then found him this morning on his side in a cave. I couldnt get to him. but my brittle star did, so he has the dead tang now. so all my lvl's except nitrate are at zero. I did add 2 coral frags. 1 was nepthea and the other is Anthelias. dont know if they cause his death somehow. so I am not sure what to do, other than more CUC for the algae and the new sump/refug
