Check out a pair of seahorses I got. They are in the fuge for now (I think the conditions are perfect in there), but I will probably still setup a small dedicated tank for them.

It seems like a male and a female :cheesy:. (pics are a bit blurry :-/)

Looks like 2 males to me

Also, give them a hitching post of some sort so they don't have to hold onto each other for support. That will lead to fighting and stress eventually.

    This might help:

    seahorse.org - Pouch Evacuation

I loved keeping seahorses but my pair kept breeding and I was never able to raise the fry past the 6-7 day mark. After awhile, their feeding requirements were just too much for me so I gave them up. Now that I have a baby at home and no chance of ever going away on vacation again :) I might give them another try!

Big one is with out a doubt a Male, little one no way of telling from these pictures. Are they Captive or wild caught? What flavor are they, they look a bit like H. Barb or a plain jane H. Erectus. What are you feeding them?

My dad was working near the ocean yesterday, and caught them near a seawall. Looks like plain jane erectus to me :).

I have read a ton of info on them, and it seems that I have a male and female since the big one has brooding pouch. The smaller one has a sharper angle on the bottom (meaning female) Now I am going to try and train them to eat mysis, or if not Ill just buy some live food (I dont think they will starve since there is a bunch of copepods in the fuge for now)

I certainly do hope you've done ample research. Wild Caught Seahorses are tough. How big is the fuge and how big are the horses?

good luck with them...i hear they're messy eaters. If you get them to eat prepared food. You...my friend, are a reef god in my eyes.

It isn't that hard to do, all 4 of my adult seahorses were wild caught. Its just very time consuming and hard on the horses.

You are going to have to get live food to start with, Brine or Mysis because they will not do well on copepods at all. If your feeding brine you will want to gut load them before feeding. You have to make sure they are eating well before embarking on this endeavor because if they are not they will starve to death within a very short time.

I think you misunderstand what I mean by Plain Jane Erectus, LOL what I meant was that they don't have much in the way of markings. Erectus are either absolutely gorgeous or very plain it seems to me, nothing in the middle. I have two that are beautiful and one that it So so, and one that it just Plain Jane.

This is one of my females, see the markings on her.

And this is one of my plain jane males...
