i kept 3 dwarf seahorses in only a 3 gallon tall aquarium, i only had an airpump with tubing in for flow and just normal flourescant lighting, i bought from seahorse.com and all their seahorses are already weened onto freeze dried food. and they were i didnt have to raise a single brine shrimp. i kept them for 6 years in that tank without any deaths and even got some babies to sell out of it. also i just had a few pieces of live rock and a coral skeleton and some fake plants for them to hang onto. also i had 2 hermit crabs and 3 snails in the same tank i think dwarf seahorses are the best to go with in a 10 gallon all the others require a slightly bigger tank. also they are very hardy.when i ordered mine they arrived and the water was 48 degrees, and they were still perfectly fine. theyre the best to go with in my opinion.

Well, you did awfully well for dwarf seahorses that CANNOT long term survive being fed non live foods, and doing it for six years when the lifespan of dwarfs is only 1 1/2 to 2 years.
From seahorse.com, (quote]FOR EXPERTS ONLY!! Very delicate !! Very small!! Require the daily preparation and feeding of live food (baby brine shrimp)!![/quote]
There is no better place to buy from than seahorsesource.com (not OR's seahorse.com), pekasponies.com, and seahorsecorral.com

Corrals can be kept in with seahorses but must be limited to non stinging types, and types that the seahorses won't irritate by hitching to. It's also best to be sure they are types that handle the cooler water without problem as it's recommended to not go over 74°F for seahorse tanks. (see the links in my signature link)

People sometimes keep sponges, soft corals and stuff in the seahorse tanks sometimes.

All you need is just a good light and soft corals really dont need a ton of flow..Such as zoas and palys and sponges..and people even keep non photosynthetic corals also.

every one needs to listen to rayray. he probaly knowsw the most on this site about horses. on my build thread, any qustions i have he is on them instantly with good advise from other members. seahorse tanks are very possibal. but right now we dont know enough about them to do fancy stuff. the biggener needs to follow the book on this one. their will not be any shortcuts unlike reefs.

also i recomend pekasponies.com she has an amzing set up and all she dose all day is care for the horses. she is local for me so i dont have to pay shipping, but she dose ship if you want her email i can send you it.

the foods for mandarins and seahorses are a real b**** XD but it kind of is true since you really want to keep these creatures yet their specific conditions can't always be met
