I saw a YouTube video of someone doing it, but the glass looked pretty thick.

Back to the reactor...I had difficulty trying to get the bottom (top in this photo) on the reactor...I painted it to match the rest of the plumbing, and now it doesn't fit. Stupid thing on my part. I also could not get the plastic mesh to stay glued in the end cap. Whenever I put it together, the mesh would come out of place.

So instead, (not sure why I didn't think of this before) I am going to just use PVC, like I did on the end that unscrews.

The only problem with this is I have to go from 1/2" PVC to a 1and 1/4" , and the flex tubing isn't rigid enough for my situation.

Here is a parts list of stuff I still need to get.

    1 1/4" x 1/2" SCH40 bushing
    1/2" SCH40 male adapter
    1/2" PVC union SCH40 socket (x3)

    Huh?

I do water changes trough wet-skimming and I top-off with distilled water currently. I have been thinking about getting a BRS starter dosing kit and dosing the big three instead of having to worry about constant water changes.

The skimmer takes about 1 cup of skimmate per day.

    That makes more sense.

Yes, I am still using the plastic tube (that came from the siphon vacuum). I didn't find anything else that was clear (I need to be able to make sure the media is tumbling). The plumbing parts I'm getting tomorrow are just to cap off one end of the reactor.

I looks like the guy took them out of the tank. It is drained about half way, I think.
