I probably wil. There's less heat problems and I can change pout the colors just by buying a different bulb.

I really like the shimmer. I may use some sleds for accent lighting to get the shimmer effect.

yo big man, im going back halides for the beast from the east 150... im gonna run 3 lumatex 250/400w ballasts, and lumatex reflectors, with single ended radium 20ks

i like t5s, but the shimmer to me was a big deal.. i loved my ati fixture, had great growth, cool color options with the bulbs, but something about that shimmer on a big tank(75+gallons) to me and all everyone that comes over is a big deal.. to me a 2 tanks exactly alike, the one under halides looks completely different than a tank under t5s, not sure why its like that to my eye but it is. and im not just talking bout the shimmer, its just something..

Trying to keep the costs down short-term. Tank is only going to be up for a year. I'll go LEDS when I set a tank up next time.

Yeah I had figured as much, all led's would be expensive specially if your only going to have it set up for a year or so, well either way im enjoying this build and interested to c how it all turns out ;D

I wish I had the money to have all leds over an SPS tank. Lol. It was going to be about $800. The prices for good fixtures went up from there. If you see the first page of my thread you will see I updated the equipment list. I added some nice goodies. Even if I went leds and just got standard equipment(koralia pumps, etc) it would have been more to do the leds. lol.

Glad you are still watching. It's nice having everyone follow along with the build.

Dad will probably move to Columbus when I leave for college . I may move in with my sister and her bf in BG. for that summer. Still not sure what will happen with the tank when I do leave. Being in a dorm for the first year I will probably keep the equipment with my dad or something and sell the tank/stand and livestock...or just sell everything together.

It makes me sad to talk about this before the tank is even up and running, but it should be nice while it lasts.
