Central Aquatics/Coalife/AGA...whatever you wish to call them. They finally came through. Too late now.

Old skimmer body next to the new one they sent me (at right).

Glad I ended up doing it. Without even including that the orginal skimmer was oversized, I like the Hydor better. It's puling in darker skimmate than what I would get from the Coralife, and more of it. Tomorrow will be 1 week of running the Hydor skimmer and it is almost full...but the skimmate is a tan/brown color with lots of foam on top.

Guess what else? Today was the first day I noticed ANY gunk in the neck of the skimmer. Even what is there, isn't much. The Coralife would get gunked up just about every-other day.

Sounds like a great upgrade then. I'm glad it is working out for you. I'm really looking at the Slim Skim for my tank, and the price isn't really that bad. :)

You'll need a small brush to clean the neck out if it does ever get gunked up though, as I can't fit my finger in it. No big deal.
