I don't recall, how high above the water should I have the bulbs?

 

Doesn't' that all depend on how your corals react to the new lighting? I thought that you usually go to high, then slowly move the lights down.

Yes, that is true I guess. My lights are close to the water. But my corals are half way down the tank, and lower...they seem to be doing fine. I didn't want to shock them. All the polyps are open, color is good, etc.

 

So, what if you try raising them 6 inches for the time being until the corals higher up are acclimated?

 

The plan is to raise them. I need away to hang the reflectors/raise them up. Right now they are clipped to the tank.

Ok, so the pendants I was looking into will not work. The insulator socket (which the bulbs crews into) is too small.

Instead, we picked these up at Lowe's today.

 

That looks like it will work.
