Ah! I just switched to the two Koralia powerheads (425s ) and now the tank looks sweet! All the equipment is black.

Though this also brought to my attention, that one of them seems to be running in reverse. Guess it's time for another message to Hydor.

 

I made a little shelf for testing/fragging. I think it still needs a ledge, and maybe a line of holes to hold test tubes in place.

 

Ammonia is still 0.25ppm. I can do a water change, but any other relatively quick ways that will help lower it?

Unplug the reversed power head and plug it back in. I like the testing table.

Check the outer plastic of your PH, if it is cracked it will run in reverse. Happened to both of my 1050's. I contacted Hydor and I had replacements in 48 hours, they have great customer service.

 

Yea, mine do that all the time when the power goes out. It always comes back on reverse. I found that the way u angle it makes a huge difference. It was pointed up and went reverse but when pointed down it went straight so what i did was pointed it down, turned it on, then pointed it back up. It probably wont work on the first try but just keep doing that. It will eventually kick back..... hopefully!
