haha. Thanks! Despite my first post, I have since decided not to take the tank with me to school. It would be too risky, taking it home on winter/summer breaks (though I hope to join the school marine bio club, which has several reef tanks). The tank will stay at home for this year while my family takes care of it. I have some major plans for the tank once I get my own apartment. Stay tuned! :D :p

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Eclipse 6 gallons FW, fancy guppies and easy plants. That is what I did when I went to boarding school. I took that tank everywhere.

I liked to have a tank to gaze as I went to sleep, the sound of a running tank and the relaxation of watching fish.

Ok heck Seano, forget about tanks you can always go back. Having the time of your life that is the most important thing!!!!!

You have a point by not taking it to school but its also a bummer not having something as calming to look at while resting from exams or classes.

Thanks, everyone. I may set up a FW planted pico in my dorm - easy plants, along with a betta or some cherry shrimp. I haven't decided yet. But I entered a contest on FB to win a pico tank - we shall see.

I won't lie, I was a little concerned about a reef tank in a college dorm. Anyone else concerned about a little too much vodka dosing one late night ( or just idiot neighbors)? :p

haha. Well it is rimless so I guess that's always a possibility (or would have been).

    That's what I was thinking ;D

As far as FW tanks go, I love Cherry Shrimp and think those would look really cool in a planted tank. They have always been pricey at my LFS, usually around $20 each. It's very rare that they get them in, though. Maybe you can find some cheaper ones :)

Good luck with the tank contest, Seano.
