Not really since more of the salts are chlorides in salt water than anything else.

When bonded together it's neutral. Kinda like sodium chloride, both very dangerous, but when bonded we put
    it on our food.

Thanks for the help and advice everyone.

So excited...went to orientation today and my school has a marine biology club. Someone posted a picture of their mantis shrimp on the club facebook page! :D

The marine biology department also has an LPS dominant reef tank. :) I'm not sure how large it is. I want to say 90 - 120 gallons.

Looks like they have quite a few marine tanks.

Would the marine biology department and/or club have a PAR meter?

Wow, soo lucky. They might! Someone might know someone or something along that line, those things are expensive so I doubt the actual club owns one though.

I just thought they might as they are affiliated with the university. This will be something I have to look into. I want to test par levels in my tank with the 2 par30s over it. :)

A little mock-up I made of the dorm room. :) ATO will go on the shelf to the right (not shown) or in the cabinet behind the aquarium, if it fits.
