Hey pasenah, How are ya? Welcome to 3reef! How did you find out about 3reef?
Whay kind of tank do you have? How many? Kinds of livestock? You will have to update us in the CP section in the top left corner of the home page. Signature section will enable you to tell us about your tank(s). Their also is a profile and avitar section etc.
Best of luck with the tank(s).

If you plan on stepping up to stonies(sps), you are going to want to add another metal halide bulb or your lighting isn't going to be that strong. The rule of thumb is usually one bulb for each two feet in tank length.
Plus you should have atleast 5-6 watts per gallon for the colors of most of the vivid stonies to come thru. Take a look at some of these Acropora's and Montipora's in other websites. Alot of them house the corals under 250 or 400 watt hqi metal halides with some using 1000watt bulbs. The more the light the better for alot of the small polyped stonies to really capture their enduring colors!

the light is a 250w and i have it almost above where the acros are going to be. if i find that i need to add another i will but i also like the fact the other corals have a bit less light .its a bit of an experiment;)
    cheers
