    That's fine, nothing wrong with that! Hope it works out well for you. I am sort of doing the same thing as you. I'm running acouple 250watt pendants and (1) more intense 400 watt HQI metal halide pendant, which will allow me to place the corals with higher light demands under the area of my tank housing the 400 watt pendant.

    one problem here in the uk is the cost of electric so we have to try and save where we can. if ,however, the corals start to suffer then the electric cost is the least of our worries
