So this past weekend, hasn't been the greatest in the terms of my aquarium. I went out of town all day on Saturday, and didn't look at the aquarium pretty much at all on Friday, so Sunday morning was the first time I sat down to watch all the stuff going on.

I noticed my Sebae wasn't in it's normal place, so I looked closer. Turns out it was but it was super squished up and on it's "face" and it's guts were strung out. I proceeded to look around more and realized I had lost two emerald crabs, my Golden Sleeper Goby, my two Tomato Clowns, and the Coral Beauty looks like it's got ich or something.

My guess is the Sebae died (at the worst time no less) and it's decaying body poison'd the tank. It pretty much killed all of my livestock minus the struggling Coral beauty and my hermits and snails.

Pretty upset about it. Everything was going fine, and not the whole tank is like a nuclear war zone.

Once I saw the tank was screwed up I immediately changed all the water I could (7 gallons, as it's all the RO water I had) and I plan on doing another one here soon.

What else can I do to recover?

    Thanks,
    David

Run some carbon, wet skim and test for ammonia.
BTW, how long has this tank been set up, whats your filtration like and give us some water parameters.

The tank has been up for probably close to 3 months. The sebae was introduced about 2 weeks ago.

I've got a Pro Clear Aquatics wet/dry, and a Pro Clear Aquatics in sump skimmer.

My water params recently were 8.3 pH, and 15 nitrate. Don't have any other test kits right now.

I'm fairly new so I assume you mean put a carbon packet in the wet/dry above the bio balls, and what is wet skimming?

    Thanks!

What a bummer. Unfortunately this is what all hobbyist keeping anemones fear. Running carbon, water changes and monitoring parameters is about all you can do at this time.
Good luck with the recovery of your tank.

You can add carbon, contained, to the filter. This will help clear the water and remove the toxins and should probably be replaced in a week or two, as it will have absorbed some of the toxins.

What type of skimmer do you have? This will help to assist you in adjusting the air intake, and water level to produce more output by the skimmer. It is a good idea to watch the level of the skimmer output when wet skimming as the skimmer cup will usually fill much quicker. Wet skimming is just what it sounds like, the foam will not appear as dry and the bubbles are usually larger and the end product may appear more diluted.

    Hope that helps some what.

Okay guys. The recovery begins. Here's what I bought for the wet/dry as far as carbon goes:

    Will this work?

    Thanks,

If I were you I would buy some granular activated carbon and put it in a media bag in your sump.
