second cycle? is this honestly happenning to me?

    well yea, looks like my tank is going through a mini cycle now. it has .50 ammonia/ its been setup for around 2 months now, so it is very dissapointing. i was going to get a fish tomorrow, but not anymore. ugh, why me?

    nope not even fish yet. ugh im only mad because we were going to get fish tomorrow! this is the 55 gallon not the 30 Btw.

    Hmmm...stuff on your live rock must be dying...I can't think of any other reason!

    its all base rock. but yea i guess.

    Actually, it is still cycling toward the "total" or "complete" cycle which can last up to 6-8 months. Tanks don't really "season" until they hit the 6-8 month mark. You are probably getting some more die-off from creatures that were in the rock and sand. You could add a couple Green Chromis if you like and add some good live bacteria at double the marine dose, wait a week and add some more.

    so would you say its ok to add a hardy fish? like a spiny box puffer fish?

    No, they are scaleless and suceptible to the Ammonia. I said Chromis since they are in the "tougher" Damsel family.
