So I was replacing my filter sock tonight and I have a hangnail type cut on one of my fingers and when I was changing the sock I got a nice little shock. I turned off my power heads and I tried again. I turned off the skimmer and tried again. No shock. Turned on the skimmer and a nice shock occurred. So my sedra 3500 running my G2 skimmer is putting out stray voltage. I think this has happened before I just didn't put 2 and 2 together. Now I know and want to know what my next step is. The sedra 3500 is $80 and that's not an easy purchase at the moment. I know it needs to be resolved and I am just at a loss. Do I replace the pump?
Thanks for your help in advance.

Just experienced the same thing with the same pump. Interesting.

I would check the cord for any fray or cracks. Maybe it could be fixed with shrink wrap. Maybe a crack in the casing somewhere. Hopefully you haven't had issues with fish loss yet. Good catch.

Thanks Bob. I will check out the pump and cord. I have not lost any fish in a while so that's good. Thank you.

Alright, so I brought my volt meter in today and checked the tank. A total of ~12.6volts stray in the tank. ~10 volts are from my power heads and ~1.6 volts from my skimmer pump.
I am in the process of replacing power heads but is ~1.6 volts from my skimmer pump too much?
With both power heads and skimmer off there are ~2.1 volts unaccounted for at the moment.
I am real unsure about volts in the tank. Can someone educate me? Please.
    Thank you.
