    Hey all!

I know this is problay a crazy stupid question and I am sure I am over analizing it all but here we go....

I am putting tothether a new 180 gallon aquarium. I just purchased sand and everything and getting ready to start the cycle.

    BUT...

Here is my question.... Would just one peice of live rock from my extablished tank be enough to see the sand in my new tank?

My plan is to get the sand cycled some how and once it is up and going add all my live rock from my two tanks to combine them into one large tank...

What am I over thinking? I think I am making it more complicated then it should be....

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks,
    Cole

I'm a fan of Indo Pacific Sea Farms. Get their 9 for $99 special and you can seed your sand with mini-stars, bristle worms, bacteria, etc.

If you get that and put it in (along with your piece of live rock) for your "cycle" you'd actually see a limited cycle in a 180 because of the volume of water. Once the initial cycle is over (if there even is one), then add more live rock from your existing tanks and some livestock. You shouldn't see any cycle from doing that.
