    Hello everyone:

My question today is about these powerheads. Has anyone used them. I see they offer a similer type current as those high dollar tunzes. I also want to know if they are compatable with a wave timer? Will it cause them to fail?
For 37 bucks its a lot cheaper than those other gold plated pumps. I know I should ask myself how much I have invested in my corals. I want to save money if I can. I really dont want to spend much more on these tanks when I am just getting a new one someday.

    Anyone offer some insite?

Couldn't say.... I have those pricey Tunzes! ;D Just FYI, I have 2 in my 58 gallon at about 500 gph each....I could use more flow still ;) I have them deflecting off the front glass but you can hardly feel it when you put your and in the tank....tho you can easily see it. Just a factor to consider when you pick your gph flow.

Thanx for the heads up BL. I think those I was lookin at was 620 GPH. I thnk im gonna get one of those cheezy wave timers to run them on. When I get my next tank I will buck up for the tunzes. ;)

    Thanks again BL

I have a 620 in my 90 gallon and so far I have not had any problems with it. Its weak for a 4 foot tank. If I was to do it over again I would have bought the bigger model. I plan on purchasing 2 more at some point probably the 920 or 1500 model.

From what I've read they don't recommend hooking SEIO's up to wavemakers as the off and on motion destroys the impellor. Also people have had problems with them shutting off and never restarting.

The rumor was that TAAM was working on a controller for the SEIO's, but I'll believe it when I see it.

I'm running Seio 620's and have nothing but good things to say about them. They are quiet and move alot of water. The discharge openings are large so the pressure coming out is low, therefore they give the impression they are not moving alot of water. I prefer this over a powerhead with a narrow powerful jet of water. The Seio 820 is rated at 18 watts of power while the 620 is rated at 8 watts. You can run 2 -620's cheaper than 1- 820.

Hey thanks for the info everyone. You have been a great help. Its always best to get first hand review from people you can trust, not someone that stands to make money if you buy. So, I have a 48 inch tank, if I was wanting to raise sps corals what model would you get? The 630 sounds great for LPS / Soft corals but for my sps coralswould this be enough movement?

    Jay :thumbs_up Thanks again

I have Maxijet 1200s and Via aqua that run about 300 gph. Also I run a mag350 canister and have 2 skimmers. I have plenty of movement but thats in my soft coral tank. In my sps tank I am way over pumping with a 600 gph via aqua and a 1200 MJ. I want volume not blow the polyps off concentrated current like the ones I am using now. Thats why these Seios look good.

The Seio's will work well and are much more energy efficient at 8 watts vs 20watts for the MJ.
