Okay I got this last saturday hooked it up it was working fine then stopped. I took the impeller out and rinsed it out in case a grain of sand or something worked it's way in there......tried it out.....it started turning then sort of was wobbling and stopped........finally got it running smoothly but everytime I disconnect it, it doesn't start working till I take it out and jiggle it a bit.....is this something I am doing wrong as I am totally new to this or is this defective?

I own two of them. I love the water movement but they don't start real easy. The best tip I got is don't tighten that screw on ring real tight if you leave it loose the SEIO will start easier.

    hi all, my first post....

I also just picked up two 1100 seio powerheads and am having a hard time getting them started. I've got to stick my finger in and wiggle the rotor just to get them going. Do these pumps 'loosen up' after a few days or weeks or running? if not, I'd say poor engineering is at fault.

I've got the 620's and they start just fine. They may be getting magnetic lock as do many magnetic pumps. Try unplugging and replugging the power cord several times to try and start them.
