I don't know how soon you can add them, but I just put a Flame angel in my 40 breeder. He is an awesome looking fish. I don't see why you couldn't go ahead and add one though.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Good thing she wants nothing to with tangs. Dwarf angels would be ok but not other types in a 46 gallon.

I would wait and add more hardy fish first before the angel. Coral Beauties can be difficult to acclimate, a great fish but not for a new tank ( although I am sure the exceptions will post).

What other fish are in your plans?

Are you considering corals sometime in the future? If so you might wanna rethink the angles. If not then you got good taste :)

Yes, dwarf angels are considered reef safe with caution. Do some of us have different kinds of dwarfs that do just fine in the reef, yes. It is a case by case situation. Some of us get lucky and some of us don't. :)

I think it's also supposed to be the absolute last addition to the tank :) that's what I'm doing with mine

No she doesnt want anything to go with any other fish EXCEPT angels and tangs lol. Right now there are 2 small clowns that have been in there for about 3 weeks. She wants to get a coral beauty and a blue hippo tang and I have been trying to talk her into gobies and wrasses instead.

Why only tangs and angels? I personally like to have a bit of variation in my tank. Is there a specific reason? I don't think that any tangs would be able to fit in your tank, which is okay, because they are an ich magnet when stressed, and with dwarf angels, you're either lucky or you're not, coral wise.

Not sure, online pictures are not the most flattering to a lot of fish though so I hope she changes her mind at the lfs. She just loves the look of angels and tangs because they are colorful and "smooth" looking
