No I have not tested for voltage, I plan on doing that tomorrow, I need to get a volt meter or something to do that with. Still got the ground probe on order anyway.

It has been my experience that as well as changes in salinity n(which it seems you handled nicely with the 4 hr drip), Invertebrates do seem to be more sensitive to having an "established" aquarium as opposed to a "cycled" aquarium. I don't know where to draw the line between the two, but I know it was a few years until I could confidently introduce any inverts really. Now at 13 yrs, it seems any invert I acclimate does fine, with the exception of the Linkia stars, I just wont get another one. It seems all things being in balance, they all start to die within a year or two. When I say start to die, I mean you have to watch as their arms slowly deteriorate and die.
But I digress, back to your issue, I wouldn't tear anything down just yet. I forgot the size of your tank, but in one more year you will have a 2 year old tank. If you start over, that will take more years to break in to that point again. Just a thought or two on inverts.

Thank you for the advice Eddie. I don't actually plan on tearing it down; it's just really frustrating sometimes.
