I've had a Serpent Star in my tank for maybe 2 months now, but tonight I noticed it was really trying to climb up the glass.

I assume looking for food? I've never seen it on the glass... I thought they don't do that.

Is it a sign that it's not getting enough food?
I've tried to target feed it different things, but I'm not sure how to get it to take the food...

Nah, they are curious little buggers is all. they can't get up the glass just maybe half their bodies are all. They are night time scavengers so checking out every last possible inch he can reach is his job -- perfectly normal.

That or its really Steve McQueen in disguise and he's heading over the wall ! either way....should be interesting to watch :)

To target feed, just place food close to a leg.

target feed? no need. if interested in watching him eat drop a small peice of shrimp onto the sand after lights out, he'll be on it fast fighting the rest of your clean up crew for dinner.

Depending on its size target feeding can be necessary. Mine will go after fish if not target fed, and no its not a green serpent its black. I have lost 4 fish to him from not target feeding him. Fish are all fine and out during the day then the next morning one is missing and my serpent is hiding in his little hole, doesn't come out for a couple of nights.

My banded serpent went for a carpet ride along with all of my nerites when I had a parameter crash about 8 months into the hobby. So it's possible you have something going on but not likely. Probably just curious as CrimsonGhost stated.
