Serpent Star eating my Turbo Snail

    I saw my purple serpent starfish on the live rock so I took a look and he flipped the turbo snail over and just sucked out the entire inside within a few seconds. It was pretty cool. They are real hardy animals.

    Yeah, I often had my serpents wrap up my snails, but most of the time they were unsuccessful in killing them. Occasionally, they were successful. And rarely, you'll end up with a type of serpent star that is particularly well suited to killing a certain type of snail, and they'll kill every snail of that type that you have. It's pretty much a trial and error situation, though, since not much info of this type has been published.

    i had a red serpent that definitely killed a cleaner shrimp. he has been banished to my lfs's shark tank. down in the rocks with the green killer serpents. lol
