you have to plumb it to the water line which takes adding a fitting on then tap into the drain and just a couple other simple steps there not hard to set up they just sound that way.

They sell attachements that you can hook the RO/DI directly to the faucet.
    This thing
then all you have to do is stick the return line in a container of your choice and the waste water line in the drain.

Well water is a big no no. The ro/di units are very simple to install. The ebay page that M lacom99 posted is the best source to find fittings for the unit. And the ro/di unit of that seller (in my opinion) are the best ones on ebay.

So I can use this adapter and hook it right up to my sink in the garage and the RO unit will fit right onto that, it sounds like a 2 minute hook up job.........is that right? Other than dropping another $100 that would be great (if it's that easy)! ;D

That is as easy as it is! That being said, there might be one other little gotcha. I don't like to be negative, but better to do all the thinking ahead, right? How much pressure do you get from your well at the faucet? A RO unit uses line pressure to 'squeeze' the good water through the membrane. I think most units need at least 30 psi to perform properly. If your pressure is low you might need a booster pump to get enough pressure. You can get a pressure guage for just a few bucks to check it out. Just trying to help:)

Something else to think about.......I guess I could get a pressure gauge at Lowes or HD? I was looking at the boosters on-line and if I need one of those ($500) then I may give up before I get started!:(

I'd just get an RO that already has a gauge. 3reef sponsor Air Water Ice has nice units that come with the faucet adapter, guages, the whole deal for a good price. I have their digital TDS meter and that is nice too. My RO/DI runs at 40 - 80 psi. I keep it at 60 with the gauge.

Okay, I'm trying to figure out my water pressure before I get an RO unit. I got the gauge that you refer to at Lowe's but it needs to be hooked up to a hose bib which is not available right now in my area due to the cold weather. There is a gauge on the blue "storage" container that is inside my house. This gauge reads 50psi, does anyone know if this is the actual pressure in my house. If that's the case then I'm in good shape, I'll get my unit (and other things) and have water in my tank within 2 weeks ;D . If not, I may have to wait until it warms up  .

    Thanks,
    Glenn
