I have a friend that goes out in fields and finds rock to put in his tank. He told me all he does is spray it with a pressure washer.

Also, I see you are from Naples. I was born there and lived there for about 10 years. I live in central Florida now. Ocala area. Have you ever been to The Barrier Reef on Livingston? I was in Naples recently visiting my grandmother and stopped in there. Pretty nice store.

Kevin, yes that is actually my go to lfs here. I am born and raised in Naples as well and unfortunately this is the only good store that is still in town unless I make the drive to Bonita. They always have really cool things there and the prices aren't bad either.

As far as the rock goes that is interesting you mention that. I have a neighbor who has a bunch of "white rock" in his front yard that he uses as a barrier for landscaping and I wonder if i could clean it off and then use it during the cycle. Did you friend every have any problems with the Phosphates like the earlier post mentioned or did they work out good for him after he washed them and let them dry out?

I'm not sure about details, but I didn't see any algae like cyano. I'll ask him next time I see him.

I liked that store a lot. I just wish I didn't live 4 hours away lol. I was visiting my grandmother recently and I got bored so I decided to check out the fish stores haha. What part of town do you live in? I used to live on 951 & 3rd ave NW.

Reefcleaners sells very nice, porous dry rock that they guarantee to be free of any phosphates etc. It's worth a look and sells for about $1.50 to $2 a pound with free shipping.

    I would not suggest this.
Get some cheap dry/base/dead rock and seed it with a couple pcs of live rock and sand.

Kevin, I actually grew up off Weber just off 951 and am building a house of 31st.

Civic, I think that may be the route I go as I want to make sure I don't hit any speed bumps along the way. Thanks for the input.

Rutgers, thanks! I'll check them out and at the price you say that may be the way I go. I appreciate it!
