    Hi guys i just finished setting up my plumbing from my main tank and sump i was wondering if i should test it before adding my sand live rock and ro di water. should i use tap water if i am going to test it

    I did but im not that worried about tap water getting in my system as some people so if your not worried I would say go for it. better to test it while there is nothing in it than having to rip it all apart later

    Absolutely. I ran tap water in my empty tank and sump for at least 48 hours. Turned valves on and off, shut off electric to simulate every event I could think of. Do it, it's well worth it to know things are right.
