Hi, not that i can do much about it right now because im at work. But Our power went out this morning, I have one of those battery backup air pumps running in the tank, HOPEFULLY the batteries dont die on me. But I was worried about the temperature dropping. I wrapped the tank in sleeping bags. Was that a bad idea?

    Glen.

Sure,as long as someones there to take the sleeping bags off when the power comes on.. If there is it sounds like a good idea to me....

Thats what worried me was a fire hazard...

FYI - I live in Pt. Richmond and the power went out last night or this morning at some point - for what it's worth, it is back on here. Perhaps it is on at your house too.

As for the sleeping bags - that's a new one! :)
I suppose it will be ok, but you might be trapping in C0[SUB]2[/SUB] if it's over the top. Not to mention, fire hazard...

Crap, yeah i didnt think about the power going back on... Damn. I just was assuming it would stay down. Maybe I should leave work early. This day is screwed anyways I cant focus because i keep thinking about my fish.

    Glen.

Luckily I dont have any corals, and only have 3 fish in a 45 gallon tank. so i am hoping the two clowns and the lawnmower bleeny tough it out.

Do you have a gas stove? What about puting warm water into contaners and floating them? Just a thought.

I think the sleeping bags were a good idea. Anything that would insulate the tank. Keeping the lid down would help the most there.

yeah, but remember he's got limited power running to it and the gasses will build up without filtration and skimming, with the tops down....won't they???
